The Office of the President consists of policy, planning, and operations to help further advance FIU's mission.
Florida International University welcomed its first class in 1972 under the guidance of FIU's first president Charles E. Perry. Since that first class—under the collective effort of six FIU presidents—the university has graduated more than 330,000 alumni.
Jeanette M. Nuñez is the interim president of Florida International University. She was appointed to this position on Feb. 7, 2025. She began her tenure as interim president on Feb. 17, 2025.
